Free flow toll: how does it work?

News

A free-flow toll motorway is a toll, but without toll barriers.

Cameras gantries installed along the highway instantly recognize the license plate of the vehicle traveling on it and automatically calculate during the journey what each motorist must pay.

Free-flow tolling systems are being progressively implemented on our highways:

How to pay a toll using free-flow technology?

• With an electronic toll

• At the payment terminals accessible on foot in rest areas and service areas, in cash

• At a tobacconist or newsagent equipped with the Nirio system (published by Française des Jeux) by bank card or cash

• Online on the motorway company's website by credit card

Please note: payment must be made within 72 hours of the visit !
