Enviroearth , an environmental design office located in Saint Cannat, near Aix-en-Provence, wanted to reduce the carbon footprint of its employees' journeys to work. In order to find a solution adapted to everyone's constraints, it chose FATEC to support it in the development of its Mobility Plan.
Enviroearth has around twenty employees with a relatively young average age, around 25-30 years old, with a strong environmental awareness. Thus, although the company is located in a peri-urban area, home-work journeys in a “solo car” represented only 40% of journeys, even though the latest Vinci Autoroutes barometer indicates that nearly 86% of drivers are alone in car during rush hour.
The SME therefore wanted to get involved and structure the existing system, by offering travel solutions that are less impactful, more equitable and offer easy access to all employees. In this context, FATEC's mobility consulting center intervened to support Enviroearth in the co-construction of an employer mobility plan adapted to the travel specificities of its employees.
This plan was established in three stages: a mobility diagnosis, the co-construction of an action plan with employees and management and support for deployment.
A targeted needs assessment
“ Before the start of the mission, we advised the company in carrying out an internal survey, to have a precise vision of employees' home-work travel modes ” explains Katia Lehnert, mobility consultant at FATEC. “ We then analyzed the results obtained, and carried out an accessibility study of the site, in order to know the potential for modal shift .”
The mobility diagnosis was presented during a meeting with management and defined the framework for making the project a reality: “ This first analysis was beneficial for the company ,” declares Elise Favier, marketing and communications coordinator at Enviroearth. “ Katia presented us with the measures put in place by the State, such as the Sustainable Mobility Package, which cover part of the travel solutions and encourage us to reduce the use of solo cars. The wishes and limits of the project were also explicitly expressed. »
A co-construction workshop
FATEC adjusted the mobility diagnosis by inviting employees to a collective workshop, to give them a voice around home-work mobility, alternatives to private cars, and co-construct an action plan meeting their specific needs.
Tailor-made support and sustainable solutions
Following these steps, FATEC proposed several concrete actions that can now be applied by the SME:
- The installation of parking hoops in its parking lot to encourage the use of bicycles
- The carpooling application best suited to supervising the care and payment of carpoolers
- Creating momentum around the mobility plan via regular internal communication
The co-construction of an employer mobility plan with FATEC allowed Enviroearth to find sustainable and rapid solutions to improve and decarbonize home-work journeys. “We really appreciated the investment of time by the FATEC teams to provide us with the best solutions. We were also able to benefit from direct contact with experts for its practical implementation. Our employer mobility plan will surely encourage companies in the Aix-en-Provence ZI to join our action,” concludes Elise Favier.
“ For FATEC, this support for companies in reducing their carbon impact linked to mobility is fully in line with our 2030 strategy, to reduce our own impact (direct and indirect) by 40%. From this perspective, FATEC is committed to and acts in favor of more responsible home-work mobility which also contributes to the well-being of employees, to increasing their purchasing power and to improving the employer brand. , while preserving an economic model that is viable in the long term ,” explains Katia Lehnert, responsible mobility consultant at FATEC.
