FATEC relies on Tchek , a specialist in vehicle inspection based on artificial intelligence, to offer a new vehicle inventory service combining the know-how of the two companies. It will facilitate inspection and precise quantification of damage to make the most judicious restoration choices in order to minimize costs.
FATEC strengthens the support of its customers during the refurbishment of their vehicles by combining the expertise capabilities of its technical platform with an agile and efficient tele-expertise solution offered by Tchek, a deeptech specialist in vehicle inspection. vehicles using artificial intelligence.
Three opportunities to reduce TCO
This partnership addresses several time-consuming situations for fleet managers and are particularly decisive in controlling repair costs.
This is the case for pre-inspections before returning vehicles to a rental company. Thanks to the solution proposed by Tchek, FATEC can quickly determine the damage on the vehicle that is best repaired in advance. In addition, FATEC then has an expert report that it can compare with that of the rental company.
Another scenario is the transfer of company vehicles between employees of a company. This situation requires establishing a precise statement to attribute responsibility for the damage to the drivers concerned.
Furthermore, the solution offered by FATEC with Tchek is useful in the event of a claim to estimate the damage and determine, depending on the level of deductible taken out by the customer, whether it is preferable to repair or make a declaration to the insurer.
A simplified user journey
For FATEC customers, Tchek's solution will be accessible directly from the Copilot application, using a “Bodywork” button, which will trigger the photo expertise. The driver will then be guided in taking photos with their smartphone, thanks to masks allowing them to adopt the right angle and check the brightness. A series of 10 to 15 photos will be produced, in 3 to 5 minutes, with the aim of covering the entire circumference of the vehicle.
“ We realize that from a distance, with phone photos which now have sufficient quality, we can detect small dings or larger impacts on a car, and be able to come up with an estimate that corresponds to the damage ,” explains Aurélie Carayon, Director of Operations at FATEC.
FATEC + Tchek = double check
“ This partnership is not just the use of the Tchek tool. It is support for AI using FATEC's human know-how to adapt the AI results according to rental specifications ,” adds Anton Fert, Tchek Co-founder. In fact, the costing of the damage, carried out by the Tchek solution from the photos, will be transmitted to the teams of bodywork experts from the FATEC technical platform to adjust it.
“ Once the quote has been verified, the technicians will comment on it with their recommendations to the customer and, depending on the situation, advise filling out a claim declaration, returning the vehicle as is or carrying out a repair in an approved FATEC network ” , adds Aurélie Carayon, Operations Director of FATEC.
An innovation serving all customers
This additional service will be offered by the end of the year to all FATEC customers via their driver application. In a context of tension on fleets, the objective is to save time for managers and employees, and to reinforce the relevance of the advice provided during the repair of vehicles.
“ This partnership illustrates FATEC’s dynamism and its desire to increasingly innovate in the service of its customers. Although now an ETI, agility is still present in the choices and operation of the company ,” explains Théophane Courau, President of FATEC.
